Shauno's work leans towards a modern style but uses colours and contrast that add a Pop, almost retro edge. The portrait paintings have tones that create a comic style twist with pink and purple hair or red eyes for example, while maintaining a hint of realism.O trabalho da Shauno tende para um estilo moderno mas usa cores e contraste que adiciona um toque Pop, quase retro.

I have previously confessed my passion for navy style but I think it never is too much to say it again because I believe it is definitely a statement about myself when it comes to fashion.
This past weekend I decided to take advantage of the fact that it wasn't raining (at least on Saturday!) to go out for a walk, so I decided to wear a feminine yet casual outfit. It was a bit chilly though so I had to change the cute tights I had planned to wear for these ones (I call them 'my Winter tights' as they are quite warm, sort of 'furry' on the inside, perfect for a cold day!).
It's quite funny because looking at this outfit I notice every single piece out of it is something I wear quite often and style into different looks all the time. I suppose it feels good when you're aware you make good use of your clothes, it means it was worth buying them!Já antes confessei a minha paixão pelo estilo marinheiro mas acho que nunca é demais dizê-lo porque acredito mesmo que é algo que me define no que respeita ao estilo.

These photos were taken along the riverside, at the zone of Belém. It's one of my favourite places in Lisbon not only because I really enjoy taking a walk by the river (I'm not sure everyone feels the same way but, being portuguese, water is a part of my culture and I truly love the smell of the sea breeze of the Tagus River) but also because it is one of the most cultural places you can find in Lisbon, with a couple of amazing monuments and museums. Behind me you can see Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a monument that is located along the river where ships used to depart in the Age of Discoveries in the 15th and 16th centuries (on the monument there are represented 33 important figures from this time). You can actually go to the top of the monument to have a beautiful view of the whole area of Belém and the two sides of the river, I truly recommend it!Estas fotos foram tiradas ao longo da margem do rio, na zona de Belém.

Don't expect a masterpiece out of Comme un Chef. If you do, you will be mischieved: this is another light french comedy, predictable and yet with an over used formula that works perfectly. If you have a bit of culinary interest, than you can add another reason to spend some good time watching this movie. The plot may be a bit cliché (a very famous chef battling to maintain his position in front of a restaurant, running out of ideas, when he stumbles across a young gifted chef who happens to be a fan of his work and is more than glad to help him) but I found the acting quite refreshing. Reno fits perfectly in his role but I'd say the biggest surprise here is Youn, whose interpretation is rather interesting, combining in a duet of actors that actually works. This movie doesn't try anything else than entertaining the viewer for an hour and a half but yet if fullfils its purpose.Não esperem uma obra de arte do Comme un Chef.

My rate: 3/5 - It isn't one of those life changing movies but it definitely entertains you for a while and makes you laugh quite often. If you happen to love food (specially french food), be sure to watch it!A minha classificação: 3/5 - Este não é um daqueles filmes que mudam a nossa vida mas entretém-nos definitivamente por um pouco e faz-nos rir bem frequentemente.

Starting 2013, I decided to post on the blog what I have bought each month (not only to share it with you but also to keep a record of my purchases)!Last month I didn't get the chance to share what's new in my closet so here's a post with both my purchases from January and February!

On January, I bought a pack with three different pairs of earrings (which I've been wearing a lot!) and got an amazing blazer with elbow patches from Sheinside (which you can see me wearing here)! I wasn't planning on buying anything at sales but after I changed my mind when I saw these shoes! I fell in love with these shoes the moment I saw them, a couple of months ago at a shopping center near my house. I go there quite often so I saw those shoes at the store window a million times but they were quite pricey for me so I just kept looking until the day I saw them on sale and decided to try them on. It was instant love so I had to bring them home!Last but not least, my mom gifted me this amazing skirt which I love so much! You can see me wearing it and read more about it here!

I saw these earrings and immediatly loved them so I thought I'd bring them with me (reminds me of Thrift Shop - "it was 99 cents!").This bag was a great find! I was at a shop with my sister, looking around just for fun when I saw this bag. I found it so pretty and decided to check the price. The tag said 10.9€ so I thought "too bad I don't have enough money to buy it now" and left the bag there. I kept looking and then I saw another bag like that and (I'm not sure why), I decided to pick it. The price tag said 2.99€ on this one! Someone had removed (or forgot to add) the new price tag so the first bag was actually showing the price from the first sale! I got so excited I grabbed that bag immediatly! I mean, I love it and it was such a huge bargain! Achei-a tão bonita e decidi ver o preço. A etiqueta dizia 2.99€ nesta!

I have to confess sometimes I plan what to wear. But that doesn't always happen. Once in a while I start with a piece of clothing from my closet and it almost looks like the outfit builds itself, I start adding another and another piece and, without noticing, I have a full outfit ready to wear. This outfit was definitely one of those. I pretty much just meant to wear this lovely cardigan but I ended up mixing some of my favourite colours: white, black, red and blue. It just felt right!Speaking of my cardigan, I am so loving it! Along with my sister, we call it "the Chanel coat" as it reminds us a lot of the aesthetics of Coco Chanel (and it surely makes me wanna watch this movie again!). This cardigan is simply chic, one of those staples you need in your wardrobe and that you can easily match with anything in any style, a basic that you can keep for years! Without any doubt, I love it!Tenho que confessar que às vezes planeio o que vestir. Pareceu-me bem!Falando do casaco, adoro-o!

If you happen to have a blog and post your outfits, you may know it ain't always easy to stick with a routine for taking photos and, even when you try hard, there may be a lot of factors against you. For this very specific outfit, it was the weather. I can't begin to say how hard it was to get some photos! I started taking photos of this outfit two weeks ago but right after we started taking some shots, it started raining like hell so we had to give up! I was only able to take photos again this weekend - it wasn't raining but it was very very windy!Besides weather fighting against me, I often don't get the time to take photos and, most of the time, I have no one to take me some photos. This being said, I get quite sad I don't get the chance to post most of my outfits (I'd say 99% of them) here on the blog, sometimes there's an outfit that I find very pretty and think that I'd love to share but I never get the chance to... I am thinking to get back at taking some photos (at least during week days) inside home (somehow like these ones), even though I don't want to stop taking photos outside. What do you think? Would you like to see me posting more outfits even if I'd take photos by myself at home?

Tutorial: Felt Envelopes I made for Valentine's Day

To contact us Click HERE
TweetPin ItMy twin commissioned me to make several projects for her to sell where she lives overseas (I will do posts as I finish each project).  They have several "Mall Days" a year which are basicly the same setup as a craft fair or flea market except that it's indoors and the vendors sell hand made crafts or things they bought to resell.  You can find anything from baked goods to jewelry to tote bags.  Most of the stuff is really good and not that cheap crap you normally find at Flea Markets.  They also have "Open Houses" where each vendor sells things in their own home.  My twin has a few "Open Houses" a year and Valentine's is one of them.
She asked me to make her some felt envelopes.  I knew how to make one but wanted to see how others online were making theirs.  I did try a couple of templates including the style that each side folds in, the bottom folds up and they are glued leaving the top flap loose.  That style didn't suit me.  So I thought since my twin wants the envelopes to be able to hold stuff, I would just do like a business envelope style.  Then I decorated each one in a different way with felt stickers and hand sewn seed beads on the flaps.  I think the next time I make these, I will do a fabric lining to make it fancier which will allow me to add snap buttons.  But being that I am doing so many projects for her, I wanted to help keep the cost down, hence no fabric lining.
THIS TUTORIAL IS VERY BASIC, NOTHING FANCY WHATSOEVER!Finished Size: 4.75" x 9"
I bought Precut felt pieces that were 9"x12".  3 of each color in Red, Hot Pink, Light Pink, White, Cream & Chocolate Brown to give her some variety and for her to have enough in case they were popular.  Above the felt piece is squared up on my cutting mat so that you can see the size in inches.  NOTE: EACH PIECE CAME WITH A STICKER ON IT.  WHEN YOU TAKE OFF THE STICKER IT LEAVES A FUNNY LOOKING FUZZY SPOT.  MAKE SURE THAT SPOT IS ON THE INSIDE THAT WILL BE THE POCKET

To make the flap, I folded one side over to the 2.5" mark.

I pinned each side just in case as I had never sewn with felt before and I wanted to make sure that they seams were as perfect as I could get them.

I used my 1/4" seam foot to sew a 1/4" seam on each side making the pocket.  If you don't have this foot, you can just eyeball it or some people put a piece of masking tape or other tape on their bobbin plate.

 Repeated on other side

Now, I did make the top edge of the flap a litter fancier than plain so I sewed a 1/16" top stitched seam across the entire flap.  When I folded the flap over, I made sure that I had about 1/8" gap between the top of the pocket and the top folded part of the flap.

Again, I pinned each side in place.

This just showed my pinned sides

To help me make sure I kept a straight 1/16" seam I lined the flap edge up next to the inner right side of my 1/4" seam foot.

Not sure if you can see it very well but the arrow is pointing to my 1/16" straight stitch along the top of the folded flap.

Now it's time to give the flaps some curved corners.  I used a plastic lid from raisins.  You can use any circle but make sure it's a few inches in diameter.  If it's too small in diameter, then you won't really have a curved corner.  I drew the lines with Mark B Gone.  Make sure to use a disappearing marker.

Above you see my drawn lines.  You can also see the inside of the top stitched flap.

I trimmed my corners with thread snippers/embroidery scissors to get a really good cut.

Flap folded over.  Envelope construction is finished so now you can decorate however you like.  If you look closely, you will see that the beading on each envelope is a different pattern or has a different color sequence.  I used beads in clear, hot pink, light pink & red.

I think this is a better envelope to show the 1/16" top stitched flap.

I think the top stitched flap makes the envelope look better.

I HOPE THIS HAS INSPIRED YALL TO MAKE YOUR OWN FELT ENVELOPES.
